Welcome to the realm of foundational wellness, where aligning your energy and letting your aura radiate is the top priority. If you joined us for our previous blog on the Earth Star Chakra (often dubbed the “Billionaire Chakra”), you know how deeply our energy connects to Mother Earth below our feet.
Today, we’re diving into the Root Chakra —the first of the traditionally acknowledged seven energy centers within the body, located at the base of your spine. Think of the Earth Star Chakra as your deep anchor to Mother Earth’s core, while the Root Chakra is the energy center that secures you in your physical body and everyday experience.

The Root Chakra (also known as the Muladhara in Sanskrit) sits at the base of your spine. Picture this chakra as the cornerstone of your being—a vibrant energy center that grounds you to the physical plane . The Root Chakra is about your personal stability right here, right now, in your body. When the Root Chakra is balanced, you feel an unshakeable sense of confidence, and belonging.
The Root Chakra is not just about feeling grounded—it that carries ancestral energy , family habits, traditions, and even trauma which can shape how you perceive yourself and navigate the world. However, I would like to point out the beauty of the Root Chakra lies in it's capacity for transformation . You have the power to transcend what no longer serves you (at any time). I encourage you to accept all that once was as essential because, after all, it got you here.
Just like a garden, your Root Chakra thrives when you consciously plant new seeds—These seeds are the starting point of your habits, and beliefs that align with who you are becoming. If you simply begin to visualize yourself nurturing these seeds with love and intention, you'll begin to empower yourself to shape a foundation that honors your past and creates a future filled with stability.
I feel safe in my body. I accept myself just as I am. I am always protected. I trust my instincts. I am right here, right now.
Engage your lower body with exercises like squats, lunges, and balancing yoga poses (Warrior II, anyone?). Each move strengthens that mind-body connection.
Finish your movement sesh with our Grounding mist, perfect for connecting with your practice. Spray it on or around you to help integrate your intention of stability.
If you have pets or access to them, QT with animals is a great way to connect to your Root chakra. Animals have an innate primal instinct, as well as gravitate to what makes them feel the most comfortable. We could learn a thing or two from them 😉
Pro Tip : slip a crystal in your back pocket or place it at your lower spine during meditation for a steady infusion of grounding vibes.
Examples: Beets, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnips, radishes
- Root vegetables grow deep into the earth, mirroring the Root Chakra’s connection to the ground. These foods are rich in essential nutrients that provide continued energy + support your physical body’s stability.
Examples: Beans, lentils, chickpeas, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds
- Proteins are the building blocks of the body, and so important for physical strength. Protein-rich foods help stabilize your energy, providing the fuel needed to stay grounded and focused. They also support your body’s ability to handle stress and challenges.
Examples: Brown rice, quinoa, oats, barley, millet
- Whole grains are a bomb source of complex carbohydrates, which provide long-lasting energy without the spikes and crashes associated with refined grains. This steady energy flow helps you stay and task and productive.
Examples: Ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, cayenne pepper
- Warming spices not only add flavor to your meals but also stimulate your digestive system and boost circulation. These spices can create a comforting and grounding sensation, helping to alleviate anxiety and add a sense security within your body. I like to start my day grounded with a chai tea latte full of warming spices. Shop my favorite Chai Tea blend here
Your Root Chakra is the launchpad for every bold move and fearless dream you have. When it’s stable, you’ll notice a ripple effect: less stress, more confidence, and a crystal-clear sense of purpose. I hope this information supports you and encourages you of your own innate self-healing power.
